ENVIRONMENTAL APPROVALS
AND AMENDMENTS

Environmental Approvals are essentially government permission to proceed with a project following an environmental assessment.

Your Environmental Approval may include a development approval with the local council where they will carry out development assessment through their own local planning scheme. Where state interests are affected, the Planning Regulation 2017 may require that certain development applications be referred to the State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA).

Alana will traverse the local and state government assessments processes and support you in gaining the following environmental approvals.

Environmental Authority (EA). If you want to carry out an Environmentally relevant activity, you will need an Environmental Authority. Alan can help you gain an EA and amend it when required.

Waste

Waste exemption approval

End of Waste Codes and approval

Regulated waste identification and management

Coastal development - Approvals required for development works in coastal areas.

Contaminated land- Disposal permit to remove contaminated soil for treatment or disposal from land listed on the Environmental Management Register (EMR) or Contaminated Land Register (CLR).

State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA) Development Applications and Approvals.

The state becomes involved in assessing development applications if it affects a state interest. This can be state heritage places, state transport corridors or the clearing of certain vegetation.
